Article 48 of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Radio Regulations stipulates that the national communication administration is responsible for ensuring the appropriate qualification of the marine communication operator for the effective use of radio communications. This is especially important in cases of distress.
Charter companies in many destinations, including Croatia, Montenegro, the Caribbean, and beyond, requires VHF SRC Certificate, along with proof of experience and a yacht captain's license.
According to the Radio Regulations, the minimum qualification required for a marine communication operator to use a VHF marine radio station on non-commercial recreational vessels is the Coastal Radio Operator Certificate (Short Range Radio Operator Certificate).
The SkipperCheck.net Short Range Radio Operator Course meets the essential requirements of the Radio Regulations of ITU and CEPT/ERC 31-04 recommendations for Coastal Radio Operator certification and is officially approved by the national communication administration - Electronic Communications Office of Latvia.
Course is developed in official collaboration/partnership with the Latvian Coast Guard, MRCC(Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre) and Electronic Communications Office of Latvia.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an government approved SRC certificate. The holder of this certificate hereby authorised to operate a VHF and VHF DSC radio telephone station in a ship conjunction with a valid ship's radio station license issued by flag state.
